About ToolPilot

ToolPilot is a free, open collection of 36+ browser-based online tools built by Choppy Toast. We build small, focused utilities that solve real problems for developers, designers, writers, students, and everyday internet users.

Why We Built ToolPilot

Most online tool websites are cluttered with pop-ups, require sign-ups, or upload your data to remote servers. We wanted something different: a clean, fast, and private toolbox where every tool runs entirely in your browser. No data ever leaves your device. No accounts. No subscriptions. No hidden fees.

ToolPilot started as a personal project to scratch our own itch. As developers, we kept switching between a dozen different websites just to format JSON, generate a password, or convert a color code. We built ToolPilot to have all those utilities in one place, with a consistent interface and zero friction.

How It Works

Every tool on ToolPilot is built with JavaScript and runs entirely client-side. When you paste JSON into our formatter, convert a color code, or generate a QR code, the processing happens right in your browser tab. We use the Web Crypto API for password generation and hashing, the Canvas API for image processing, and modern browser APIs for file handling. Nothing is ever sent to a server.

What We Offer

ToolPilot currently includes 36+ tools across four categories:

  • Text Tools — Word counter, case converter, Lorem Ipsum generator, emoji and symbol picker
  • Developer Tools — JSON formatter, Base64 encoder, color converter, SEO analyzer, URL encoder, Markdown preview, timestamp converter, HTML entity encoder, regex tester, diff checker, CSS gradient generator, UUID generator, Unicode lookup, cron expression generator, and more
  • Converters — Unit converter, QR code generator, image compressor, image resizer, JSON to CSV, age calculator, timezone converter, text to binary, PDF merger, PDF compressor
  • Security Tools — Password generator, hash generator (SHA-256, SHA-512), JWT decoder

We add new tools regularly based on what people actually need. Every tool goes through the same quality bar: it must be useful, fast, private, and work on both desktop and mobile browsers.

Privacy First

Privacy is not a feature we added later. It is the core design decision behind ToolPilot. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the data you enter into our tools. There are no analytics trackers on tool inputs, no server-side logging of your data, and no third-party scripts that can access what you type.
